Itinerary: Bromo & Ijen Tour (2D1N)

Day 1: Surabaya/Malang – Mount Bromo Sunrise – Banyuwangi

1. Mount Bromo Sunrise Viewpoint

Overview: Start your adventure at one of the best sunrise viewpoints such as Penanjakan, King Kong Hill, or Love Hill. As the sun rises, you’ll witness a breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru, and Mount Batok, with mist covering the vast Tengger Caldera.

03:00 – 04:00 | Jeep ride to Penanjakan (or King Kong Hill) for sunrise

04:30 – 05:30 | Sunrise view over the volcanic landscape

2. Sea of Sand & Bromo Crater

Overview: Descend into the vast volcanic Sea of Sand (Pasir Berbisik), a mystical desert-like area surrounding Mount Bromo. Ride a horse or trek across the sand before climbing 250 steps to the crater rim. From the top, feel the energy of the smoking Bromo crater up close!

06:30 – 07:30 | Climb Bromo’s crater rim and enjoy the view

3. Pura Luhur Poten & Teletubbies Hill (Optional)

Overview: Located in the Sea of Sand, Pura Luhur Poten is a sacred Hindu temple for the local Tenggerese people. If time permits, you can also visit Teletubbies Hill & Bromo Savanna, a lush green area that contrasts beautifully with Bromo’s volcanic terrain.

08:00 – 09:00 | Explore Teletubbies Hill & Savanna (optional)

09:00 – 10:00 | Breakfast and return to the hotel (if applicable)

10:00 – 16:00 | Transfer from Bromo to Banyuwangi (hotel check-in & rest)

Day 2: Kawah Ijen Midnight Trek – Drop-off

4. Midnight Trek to Ijen Crater

Overview: Begin your journey at midnight, trekking 3 km (1.5–2 hours) to reach the top of Kawah Ijen. The trek is moderately challenging but offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

01:00 – 02:30 | Start trekking (3 km, 1.5–2 hours) to Ijen Crater

5. Blue Fire Phenomenon

Overview: Witness the Blue Fire, a rare natural phenomenon caused by ignited sulfuric gases. Found only in a few places on Earth, this glowing blue flame is best viewed before dawn.
